Here, organic drawings are made with coffee on paper. Geometric shapes are then collaged using blank newsprint. Where these shapes overlap the initial drawings, headlines are applied to continue the drawing. Whenever needed, translation tools are used in the execution of the work.
This series evokes the everyday ritual of reading the newspaper while having coffee, as well as the idea of reading one’s fate in the stains it leaves behind. Each work uses single editions of different newspapers from around the world, with the place of origin, date, and source identified in the title.
