This work presents a retrospective of 2024 through headlines from the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo. Approximately 70 headlines from each month were selected and cut out, then arranged chronologically, preserving their legibility so that events unfold one after the other.
Its shape is defined by events that marked the country during the period. In 2024, a recurring focus on the floods that affected southern Brazil became evident, as they evolved into one of the most severe climate-related disasters in the country’s recent history, displacing thousands and causing widespread destruction across the state of Rio Grande do Sul. As a result, the shape of the work alludes to the flood map of the Guaíba River, the region’s main watercourse.
